  17. Dealers are advertising LW 4.0 in their current magazine ads.  So far, I have 
  18. found nobody offering significant discounts.  I think NewTek will sell quite a 
  19. number of packages the first couple of months and dealers will do quite 
  20. nicely.  NewTek can start formal advertising after they satiate this first 
  21. wave of LW hunger.

  23. BTW, this word-of-mouth thing seems to cost them very little.  Seems like the 
  24. various publications are happy to give free press.  Jim Plant is already 
  25. helping NewTek market their as yet undisclosed new PC product (not a slam - 
  26. that is just the way it works).  NewTek has a large number of people like 
  27. myself just frothing at the mouth waiting for 4.0.  All with minimal 
  28. advertising.

  30. NewTek and Microsoft are marketing geniuses.  And they seem to have hit on 
  31. the same successful formula.  I am beginning to think the genius is in how 
  32. long a company can string along its customers before they jump ship.  They are 
  33. both such teases.

  35. I am going to have to look at my old VTU and see what exactly was predicted 
  36. for LW 4.0 release.  I'd swear it was supposed to be released 3 months ago.  
  37. How could they be so wrong?  It is probably one of two things.  They decided 
  38. to add extra functionality to be a better 3DS killer, or they simply mislead 
  39. us.  Either seems plausible and I will probably never know the truth.  I don't 
  40. develop software, but right now it looks like they are four months behind and 
  41. I just don't think they miscalculate that badly.  But then, I could EASILY be 
  42. wrong.
